BECAUSE I'M A WOMAN | What you are to me | A Forlorn Heart | Maisie | A Place Among the Stars
Sonnet for a Minstrel | Blue | Welcome

BECAUSE I'M A WOMAN

I am a wife and a mother
A sister and a daughter
With heap of unfair duties to shoulder
Because I’m a woman

Age is but a number
Applicable not to me
Because I’m finished
As soon as it descends on me
Because I’m a woman

I stay at home
To keep the bed warm
Reproduce nurse and feed
Take the blame of bad products
Denied the credit of good products
Because I’m a woman

I’m made a punch bag
But sticks like a magnet
To a slavery matrimony
For the sake of my offspring
Because I’m a woman

My home must stand
Whether built on solid or liquid
Whichever is entirely my business
Because I’m a woman

I yearn for paradise
By taking instructions and orders
For it lies beneath my home
Yes a total worship
Because I’m a woman

I’m the weaker sex
Monogamous in nature
Created to make Adam a man
Yet the founder of evil
Because I’m a woman

This poem is dedicated to all the women faced with selfish challenges
in an attempt to change the world for the better

What you are to me

I think of you –
When the sun is diving behind a purple horizon,
Then you are the energy
That keeps my life going on.

I think of you –
When raindrops keep gently tinkling on the window,
Then you are freshness
For my senses so aglow.

I think of you –
When the wind is rustling in the foliage of trees,
Then you’re my freedom
Without I wither ill at ease.

I think of you –
When the birds greet every morning striking up a song,
Then you are the melody
That carries me along.

I think of you –
When my heart is opening for you with endless trust,
Then you are my Love
Filling my life with Angels dust.

A Forlorn Heart

Who is she sitting in the moonlight
With constellations blazing in her eyes?
A smile and her beauty casts glow upon the stars
I would not dare to show the heart inside

Though time went on, I stood through darkest thunder
With no one there to stay my trembling hands
So I was left to find my world in cinders
With naught but tears to give to burning sand

In pain I walked the broken road to nowhere
But I was called, between an angel’s cries
She was waiting there beside me like heaven’s wings
I was found again to feel a light inside

Who is she sitting in the moonlight
With softest shine of sunbeams in her smile?
That when I dared to show her where I hid my heart
She had dared to hold hers close all of the while

Maisie

A Sleeping Angel growing strong

this little body knows no wrong.

How lucky those who look at this,

a picture of a babies bliss,

to her the only thing she needs

is in the richness of her feeds

and love that's there from Mum & Dad

a life of happiness, not sad.

A world where governments can't agree

to keep us all pollution free

where factions fight and countries war

leaving families so poor.

What hope is there for those so young

to live in peace as we have done

what legacy do we leave behind

that is of benefit to mankind?

 Sleeping Angel growing strong

Mummies job to-day is done.

May God protect you through the night

and show  our leaders what is right

guide them all to be humane

so that your life is not in vain.

Sleeping Maisie growing strong

God bless your life and make it long

A PLACE AMONG THE STARS

There is a place among the stars
Where dreamers dare to go
To go there you must put aside
Most realities that you know.

This is a place where only those
Who want to transcend the bounds
Of all those cares and worries
On earth that seems to abound.

For cares and worries can bind us
And make prisoners of us all
Until our avenues of escape
Seem so narrow and so small.

So don’t close up those avenues
There is always hope for all
Put away those worries and those cares
And dare to live among the stars.

Sonnet for a Minstrel

Playfully came the zephyr from Avon, rendering
And orchestrating nocturnes of autumn so meek,
With mesmerized, intoxicated leaves blushing
For the fragrance of a homecoming creek.
Afar rose a minstrel clad in tattered
Apparel yet with insanely flaming glow
Of wisdom and unquenched passion inward
That erupted like Cupid’s bow and arrow.
Sensitive to the unchained dynamic sphere
Of the signifier and signified,
Never did he cease to shake his spear
Fishing for the very hues of inspiration beautified.
To write or not to write,
That is not the question, right?

Blue

the edge
stretches
into a thin line
of the landscape
as if awaiting
to be absolved
from its futile
endlessness
impatient wind
pulls me
towards the rosy shimmer
of the sea
and whispering waves
run to me
like faithful dogs
licking my toes
with their salty tongues
jolting faded memory
of sensual oblivion
I lie down
spread-eagled
on infinite number
of tiny little rocks
like caressing fingers
touching my skin
with warm recollection
of receding sun
and my mind
purges its sadness
in this quiet moment

I open my eyes
and let heaven
fall down on me
more blue
than the colour of my
empty heart
