Highlight Poem of the Week

GIVE

He had to learn something about being poor
like where to get basic needs: Food, tooth paste,
Tooth brush, clothes, soap, when money
needs to be squeezed to the last precious drop,
and putting your family with relatives or in a
homeless shelter is a day to day reality, caught
up in Black Monday seventy-five thousand people
lost their cushy jobs and to some point esteem
the stock market plummeted to a lack of confidence,
now he knows about the slave market and how tough
it is to pound the pavement in search of work willing
to accept a job beneath his education to preserve
his way of living, tears formed in his eyes when he
had to apply for food stamps waiting amongst the
common folk and their chatter his dignity shattered,
he would have to adjust and accept he must take
without being selfish because of his extreme needs
find places offered in the Lord's name for the poor
who need assistance in various areas: Computers,
phone and message service, job openings, he will
find people committed to those less fortunate
and discover the many ways Christians give.

My choice for Highlight Poem of The Week, goes to arnal for his poem "Give"
a stark reality of life as only one who has been their and done that could
write. Arnal your words ring true for many in this world, here in the
States so many are out of work, and have stop looking, their dignity
shattered. But not their faith, may the Christians who have assist those
who have not. Such caring words for those in
need.........................Roland............
